The Christmas Hamper Appeal Luncheon was held on Wednesday, 15th October 2014.

A most enjoyable luncheon was held in the Sam Jacobs Room, with about 70 people participating in the function.

Again, this year there were more men who decided to join in on this occasion. As most of you are aware, this function raises funds for the Freemasons Foundation which passes on the money to Foodbank,  an organisation which organises Christmas hampers for individuals and families who are in need.

Our involvement in such causes, ensures that those in need are also able to participate in the celebration of Christmas. With the proceeds from the auction held at the mixed dinner on 11th October 2014, the raffle held at the luncheon, donations and other activities, the luncheon this year raised nearly $1,800 towards the Christmas Hamper Appeal.

A light lunch was provided by Homestead Catering Service and entertainment by the A Capella group “Sum X Eight” added to the happy and relaxed atmosphere.

The Grand Master and Mrs Sonja Parsons wish to thank all those who made such positive comments to Sonja  about the function, all those who attended and those who contributed a raffle prize. Thanks is also extended to the Grand Lodge Administrative staff, all of whom worked to ensure that the event was a success.
