A cheque for the amount of $1,000 was presented on Saturday 5th December 2015, from Mostyn Goodwood & Loyalty Lodge No. 18 and the Freemasons Foundation to support the "Orange Tree Quilters" who sew quilts to give to children who have to travel to Melbourne to undertake lifesaving heart surgery. This occurred at the Lockleys Child Care Centre, where they usually meet.

The Freemasons Foundation requested that their small stickers be inserted with every quilt donated, to advertiser the Foundation's support of this very worthwhile project. The group was of course very happy to oblige.

There were about 30 members present and the happy and friendly group of volunteers self-catered and enjoyed a happy gathering of the magnificent food. good cheer.

All materials used for the quilting is supplied by the individual quilter. The donation today from the Lodge and the Freemasons Foundation, therefore, was very much appreciated.

In the New Year, the "Orange Tree Quilters" group intends to run sewing lessons for the mothers who bring their children to the Centre, in gratitude for the Center Management offering the use of their premises for to the quilting group.
